I did a load of laundry & made a pound of bacon before leaving the house.
~I dropped off the 2 pair of special-order Mitts at Napa before going on to WMS & Smith's for groceries.
~I helped Chuck load 20 bags at the food pantry.
~At Goodwill,I got a pair of ladies Cabela's cargo pants.
~I went home,put away groceries & had lunch.
~I went to Big Lots & Dollar Tree for goodie-box fillers.
~Back home,I made Ginger Coconut bars & swept the floors.
~Mike came home early at 4pm.He changed clothes then we went just up the street to the dentist.He got 2 teeth pulled.
~I made a Sedona Hat in Claret/Taupe.

Mmmmmm!

Crustless Pumpkin Splenda Pie-I followed the recipe on the back of the Libby can,substituting baking Splenda for the sugar.I doubled the recipe & it made 4 crustless pies.The containers came from Dollar Tree,4 for $1.Make sure to spay the tin with PAM before pouring in the batter.
~Mike came to the combined church service at 9:30am,where I was admitted to the Daughters of the King.There was a Pancake breakfast afterward to support 2 orphans in the Philippines,but we didn't have time to eat,so I just made a donation.
~Wyatt rode with Mike & me out to the Zia gun range,were we went through an orientation & walk through.It was too cold to shoot,so Wyatt just put a dozen shells through his shotgun to loosen it up.
~After Mike & I got home,we just spent the afternoon being lazy.

Scarf Sold!!

I sold a Garland of Blossoms scarf in Black/Lipstick/Claret to Leslie in CA.

~I left the house around 8:30am so I could get a few groceries at WMS then be first in line when the pharmacy opened.The prescription Mike called in on Thursday didn't show up!I was able to give it to them there,but it took an extra 20 minutes.

~On the way into WMS,I saw the Toys for Tots box,remembering Mike saying the box at their store was empty.I got a boy & girl gift,dropping them off at Napa before going home.They were sad I didn't bring cookies!

~After putting the groceries away & getting a bite to eat,I went to JoAnns,using a 50%-off coupon on a skein of yarn to make a pair of gift Mitts.

~At the downtown Big Lots, I got granola bars & a 3-pack of gloves for the Woolly Tree.

~I stopped at a new $1 store & found a case to fit my phone(it kept falling out of my back pocket when I was gathering leaves on Thursday) & a fancy beaded hair band.

~At Savers,I found a pair of gray jeans,2 long sleeve button up shirts,1 sleevelss button up shirt & 1 plate.

~I picked up another skein of Mitt yarn,with 40% off,& a plaid take-out box at Hobby Lobby & a skein of Gift War scarf yarn,with 50% off,at Michael's.

~Back home,for good this time,I washed some baking dishes leftover from yesterday,unloaded the dishwasher,folded laundry,then finally got to work on the Gift War scarf.

~I made Mike a bacon cheeseburger sammie for supper.

~I finished the Gift War scarf!Both Mike & I like it,so it is unisex enough,I guess!

Bump in the night

~I spent the morning cleaning the house.

~Around noon,I went to the Family Thrift Center & got a coffee mug,small picnic basket & Nativity ornament at the 1/2-price sale.

~Susan came by at 1pm.We started the turkey then spent time crocheting.

~We had Thanksgiving dinner at 6pm for 12 family & friends.We also played Apples to Apples.It was a great evening!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends & family!I am blessed!!

~Mike & I went up to the church to water the trees.I picked up 2 bags of leaves.Mike check my office computer & says it just needs more memory.But,it is so old,he will have to order the memory online.

~There is always a basket each of "kiddie" candy mix & "chocolate" candy mix on my desk.I have noticed that nobody eats the Whoppers!So,I brought them all home & made Whopper cookies.I decided,with the Whoppers,there was no way to redeem these cookies by using Splenda or wheat flour,so I just followed the receipe.They taste like eating sugar straight from the bowl!I packaged them up in groups of 4 and plan to put them in the bags next week at Food Pantry.

~We went to the Mallory's at 2pm for Thanksgiving.It was a fun time!

Hat Sold!!

I sold a Roseburg Hat in Olive/Ivory to Serena in WA.
~Work went well.I had 3 ladies help me to collate,staple,tape,address label & stamp the monthly newsletters.They all got Turkey Butt fridgies!
~After work,I dropped off a bigger-than-usual plate of cookies for the Napa boys.
~We had chicken bacon cheese sammies for supper.I added the last squares & put the end work & edging around the Playful Plaid lap blanket,then realized,I had left a whole row of 5 square off!I will have to remove the edging & fix it.
~We watched "Inkheart".It was good!

~I worked on the Prayer Shawl,finishing off the partial skein of RHS Rose Pink & starting a partial skein of RHS Country Rose.

Neckwarmer & Mitts sold!


I sold a Neckwarmer & Mitts set in Rust to Erin in WA.She bought the previously-posted Garland of Blossoms scarf in Rust/Pea Green for her mom for Christmas & requested these.
~Work went well.I printed off the first copy of the bulletin for proofing,made up a new calender for the narthex & have most of the newletter completed.
~After work,I stopped by Big Lots & picked up facial tissues & soup.
~I got home & was ready to start the coffee & realized I left work an hour early!I was going by the clock on the wall which said 3pm.I saw someone messing with it this morning & they apparently set it back an hour.I don't know if it was supposed to be a joke,but I'm not amused.I called Fr. Jim & apologized.
~Date Nite was AWESOME!There were fewer people,so we were able to do more complicated shooting techniques.Shooting at multiple target at different ranges,reloading,turning & shooting.I am getting faster with my first shot,but still being accurate.

Mike came with me to the church around 8:45am to help take my pies inside the parish hall.I stayed to help Vicki with the sale.Around 9:45am,I came back home to pick up the recipe for Oatmeal Pie for Vicki,then dropped off cookies for the Napa boys.

~After 10:30am mass,I again helped sell pies.I don't know how many we sold,but we could have sold 10 more!

~Back home,I gathered trash/recyclables & picked up the back yard.

~I made 3 Button Tree ornaments,a rose pin & worked on scrap lap blankets.

~When Mike got home from work,we went down to the range to check his reloads.

~We had chicken bacon cheese sammies for supper.

Mmmmmm!

Oatmeal Pie-aka Poor Man's Pecan Pie

~Susan & I went yardsaling for a short time.We had brunch at Annie's Soup Kitchen,Avocado/Bacon omelet,smothered in cheese & green chile sauce with home-style wheat toast.
~We went to American Furniture,where Susan picked out a new recliner.
~We went to the bead show for a little while.
~We met the Hogan's back at AF to pick up Susan's chair.We all drove back to her house to unload & rearrange her furniture.The Hogan's drove me back home.
~I made 4 Crustless Splenda Pumpkin Pies for STEG sale.
~I made a kid-size Sedona Hat in RHS Sport Pink,unknown pink/black confetti & unknown black.It's very cute!I hade enough confetti leftover for a flower pin.
~I made Mike a bacon cheeseburger sammie for supper.I was still full from lunch.
~I worked on the Prayer Shawl.

Lap Blanket

Patriotic round ripple lap blanket for the VA hospital.

~I left the house around 8am,to get everything done early.I knew it was too early for the WMS pharmacy to be open, so I stopped at Target.I found a 4-qt Crock Pot($3-off!)in a most pretty red.This is my first one!I also picked up 2 pair of kids gloves for the Woolly Tree & a pair of snowflake socks for me.

~I picked up a prescription and got groceries at WMS.I know I normally get groceries on Mondays,but with Thanksgiving next week,I'm working next Mon/Tues/Wed,instead of the ususal Tues/Wed/Thur.Plus,I wanted to make sure and get the things I needed for Friday Thanksgiving dinner.

~Back home,after putting groceries away,I made 2 deep-dish Oatmeal Pies.It must be a different recipe than mom's because my oatmeal/coconut didn't float to the top & made a pecan pie-look crust.Hopefully,they will taste okay for the STEG pie sale.

~I also make a batch of sour cream corn muffins,since my sour cream was set to expire tomorrow.I freezed them.

~I made a pair of special-order Mitts in LB VC Rust, a BoB in sparkle Blue & a rose pin in Black wrapped in a shiny green/red/gold strand.I remember this particular yarn from years ago,but it had no label.

~I made a frozen pizza for supper.It was good!

~I started a Prayer Shawl in RHS Rose Pink.I'm just starting from the center,working out,in an alternating dc/mesh pattern using a K hook.

~Was awake at 4:30am.Started a new lap blanket,but may rip it out.
~Got all the bulletins printed/folded by 11:30am!Food Pantry gave out 20 turkeys along with the normal bags.People had started lining up by 11:15pm!.Probably 20 people turned away.
~Dropped off Ginger Coconut bars for the Napa Boys.
~Awesome Date Nite!Shot in the dark pretty good.Need to practice combat reloads,though,both of us.

Hats Sold!


I sold 2 hats to Katarzyna in IL:Tweed Cloche in Black/Gray & Roseburg in Iris/Poppy.
~Mike had a dentist appointment at 7:30am,so he went by himself.I washed 2 loads of laundry before going to work.
~Work went well.I asked the church ladies to help me fold newsletters next week & they said yes.We also talked about what pies we are making for the STEG Pie Sale.They liked the sound of my pies.One asked for the Oatmeal pie recipe.
~At home,I made bacon & swept the floors.The doggies are bringing in hay-bales again!
~I made Mike a bacon cheeseburger sammie for supper while I had chili with cheese & tortilla chips.
~I worked on the Playful Plaid lap blanket & made a rose pin from some silver saprkle yarn.

Hat & Scarf Sold!


I sold a Garland of Blossoms scarf in Turqua/Light Gray to Colleen in NJ & a special-order Boyfriend Beanie in Ebony/Ivory to Holly in CT.

~Work went well.When I finished my usual stuff,I went through the Sunday bulletin binder,printing out & inserting missing ones.I will continue to do this until the year is complete.I left work an hour early due to a Vestry meeting tonight.
~Mike & I gave blood at the fixed sight on University.Blood Pressure 109/72, Pulse 78 & Iron level 16(12 is needed to give blood).
~I made a special-order Neckwarmer in Lion Brand Vanna's Choice Rust,adding plastic antique gold buttons that look "antiquey".
~We had chicken bacon cheese sammies for supper.
~Vestry meeting went longer than planned,but Mike was able to do some stuff to both computers to make them boot faster.

Scarf Sold!!

I sold a Neckwarmer in Eggplant to Erin in WA.
~Chuck is on vacation this week,so I got up to the church around 8:50am & loaded 20 bags.I took 4 bags to the conference room(in case someone comes by during the week).I printed out address labels while I was there for the Stewardship drive.
~I came back to Big Lots(sugar-free peanut butter),the Red Cross Thrift Store(bag ofyarn),Smith's(yogurt & fruit waters),Michael's(yarn for special-order project),Hobby Lobby(didn't have the yarn for the other special-order project)& Dollar Tree(small pans for making crustless,sugar-free pumpkin pies).
~Mike had called needing a phone number from a pamphlet on his desk,so I stopped by the house,dropped off the yogurt,picked up the number & dropped it off at Napa.I got afternoon sugars!
~I got groceries at Walmart Supercenter.
~I worked on a Artisan Scarf in LB Homespun Fawn & Quartz.I will be adding other colors,but keeping Fawn as the main color.
~We had bacon cheeseburger sammies for supper.

~It stopped snowing,but was so cold!I dropped off some Peanut Butter cookies for the Napa Boys & showed Jason the Brown mitts.He likes them!

~Thankfully,it was warm in church.

~I gathered trash/recyclables,vacuumed the floors & made a bath of Ginger Coconut candy bars.
~I made a special-order Sedona Hat in Black/Cream & finished the parts for the Zebra cat.

Mmmmmm!


Derby Pie & Brownie Caramel Pecan Pie for St. Elizabeth's Guild pie sale.

~Mike took off work today.He drove me up to the church for Prayer Shawl Ministry.There was only me & Ms Lucy.Our numbers are dwindling with the one lady leaving the church last wekk.I need to start making shawls along with my lap blankets.I worked on the Lacey lap blanket & left 3 finished lap blakets behind to be blessed.
~Mike came & picked me up at 10:45am.We picked up Susan & headed out to the Zia Gun Club for scheduled orientation.There was a sign on the gate saying it had been cancelled!We took Susan back home.
~Mike & I stopped at 2 different places to look for reloading bullets.None were found.
~I made a Garland of Blossoms scarf in 16 different color flowers joined with Black while watching Mad Max-Beyond Thunderdome.
~We had bacon cheeseburger sammies for supper.
~I started a special-order Square Cat in RHS Zebra.

I made 2 pies this morning for the St. Elizabeth's Guild sale on November 22,Brownie Caramel Pecan & Derby.

~I vacuumed/mopped,cleaned the front bath & did a load of laundry.

~After an early lunch,I went to Hobby Lobby on Wyoming to see if they had brown wool-blend yarn like the black I got on Juan Tabo last week.They didn't.I did get a skein of LB Vannas Choice "Tangerine Mist" on clearance & used a 40% off coupon for a skein of I Love This Yarn Camouflage.

~I stopped at 2 thrift stores & Big Lots,but didn't buy anything.

~Back home,my pies were cool,so I put them in gallon ziploc freezer bags & put them in the freezer.I vacuumed the living room floor AGAIN due to the dead grass the doggies keep bringing in.

~I made a pair of special-order Pulse Warmers in Bernat Shetland Chunky "Earthy Brown".This pair i made about 1 1/2" longer.They are cool!

~I worked on scrap granny squares.

We had chicken bacon cheese sammies for supper & watched "Australia".It was awesome!

Hat Sold!!

I sold a Sedona Hat in Homespun Fiesta/Burgundy to Paul in NY.

~Work went well.I did find a mistake in the bulletin with the wrong form of Prayers of the People,but Fr Jim said we could just use last weeks.Everything was printed & folded by 1pm.I helped Julie with the food pantry since Chuck is gone for vacation.We gave away the 20 usual bags,I made 3 more and we had to turn away 2 others,all in 20 minutes time!

~Julie brought me fresh/frozen pumpkin & picked 6 of the Little Octopi I brought.

~I dropped off a dozen Peanut Butter Dark Cocoa Chip bites to the Napa Boys.

~16 people for Date Nite.Learned shooting form different positions.

I sold a Turtle in Snowghost/Grey to Michele in PA & a Roseburg Hat in Claret/Rose to Cheryl in VA.

~Work went well.Learned a few things,but can do the bulletins mostly by myself.Was alone last 2 hours.
~After work, I went to the Family Thrift Center for the 30% off sale.I got a t-shirt,2 skirts and a pair of mittens for the Woolly Tree all for $12.

Hat Sold!!

I sold a Boyfriend Hat in Medium Olive/Dark Royal to Holly in CT.

~At Big Lots, I got 4 cans of evaporated milk for upcoming pumpkin pie baking.

~I helped Chuck load 20 bags at the food pantry.

~I had to call the nursery attendent to get all the hours before calling in payroll.While I was there,waiting,I put stamps on letters and filed the mail from the weekend.

~At the Family Thrift Center,I got a banner & picture frame.At Goodwill,I had a shirt & ball of yarn in my basket,but with only one cashier & the line 6 people deep,I left it.

~I got groceries at WMS.

~I tried Joann's for yarn,but they didn't have the style I needed.

~At Michael's,I settled on a skein of Bernat Shetland wool in "Earthy Brown" for the second pair of special-order Pulse Warmers.I also picked up a skein of LB Vannas Choice "Barley", just because it was pretty!.Both were on sale,so I couldn't use my coupon.

~Back home,I found unloading groceries much easier by backing my Jeep up to the front door.

~I had planned on making only one batch of Peanut Butter cookies,but I dropped the carton of eaggs and broke 5 eggs!I made a double batch(the other broken eggs will be breakfast tomorrow)with the following mods:plain peanut butter cookies with the fork cross-hatching, PB Blossoms(used my fancy flower press and placed a single PB chip in the center), PB-Dark Cocoa chip cookies & 24 mini PB-DC cups.These I tried & it was good!

~We had bacon cheeseburger sammies for supper.

~I finshed the Boyfriend hat in RHS Buff/unknown Cornflower.

~I worked on the Playful Plaid lap blanket.

~I Stopped by Napa to drop off a Chocolate Banana Mini bundt cake for the boys.Jason liked the pair of Pulse Warmers I made in Ebony!
~After dropping off the coffee-hour stuffin the kitchen,I stopped by the nursery.Lauren liked her BoB!
~The Oatmeal Apple Craisin cake went over well at Coffee Hour.
~Back home, I gathered trash/recyclables,picked up the back yard,swept the floors & did 2 loads of laundry.
~I made another BoB.
~We had chicken bacon cheese sammies for supper.

I stopped by a few yardsales(didn't find anything) on the way up to the church for the Daughters of the King meeting.It was over by 11am.

~I met Susan at Le Chantilly for lunch.The Spincah quiche,broccoli cream soup & chocolate truffle were delish!

~We stopped by an estate sale that Susan had been at previously for her to get more beads.

~Back home,I made an Oatmeal Apple Craisin breakfast cake for Sunday coffee hour.If it's good,I'll post the recipe.

~I made a special-order pair of Pulse Warmers in YarnBee Melody bulky wol blend "Ebony".I did modify the pattern slightly by using hdc instead of dc & making more rows.They seem warm!

~I made Mike a bacon cheeseburger sammie for supper.I was still full from lunch.

~I worked on the Lacey lap blanket,finishing up another skein of yarn.

Hat Sold!!

I sold a Durango Hat in Espresso to Mary in ME.

~I went up to the church around 9am to pick up leaves(2 big bags) & water the trees.
~I went to Hobby Lobby for some LB WoolEase yarn,but they didn't have any worsted weight,just chunky.I decided on YarnBee 70% wool/30% acrylic in Ebony for a pair of special-order wrist warmers.It is woven looser,so we'll see how it works up.
~At Goodwill,I got Mike an LL Bean plaid shirt(the thicker kind he likes) & a skirt for me,both for about $9.50.
~At the Family Thrift Center,I got a 4-pack bag of RHS Country Blue for $3.99.It's enugh to make a lap blanket!
~Back home,I swept & mopped.
~We had chicken bacon cheese sammies for supper.
~I worked on the Sedona Hat in BB4 Dark Taupe,adding stripes in RHS Medium Thyme.It still needs a flower pin.
~I stated a new lap blanket called "Playful Plaid".It's made in granny squares.I started with CP Taupe & added CP Dark Iris.

~Thursday is "printingday" at work.Sunday bulletins for 2 services(including liturgical reading) & an extra buttetin for a Saturday memorial service(including liturgical readings & song sheet) & 2 verions of Prayrs of the People.I got the memorial service bulletins & 8am service bulletinns folded before leaving for the St. Elizabeth's Guild meeting at 1pm in the Parish Hall.We heard a talk about The Mustard Seed Project & had yummy pumpkin cheesecake.I went back to work from 2:30pm-3:20pm.
~I dropped Oatmeal/Mini PB cup cookies off for the Napa Boys & got a special-order request for 2 pair of Wrist Warmers.
~I vacuumed the floor before we left for Date Nite.Learned better trigger control & am better at 2nd-shot placement.

Be prepared!

Crime doesn't just happen in bad neighborhoods,dark alley's at night or during the full moon.Preparation evens the odds.

~The guys came around 8:30am to trim the huge tree in the front yard.

~Work went well.Got everything done with time to spare.I stayed an hour late so I can take off tomorrow 1pm-2pm for St Elizabeth's Guild meeting.

~The tree looks good!Same height,just not as round.

~I started a Sedona Hat in BB4 Dark Taupe.

~I made a Sedona Hat in RHS Black/Mid Brown & finished the edging on a Checkerboard granny lap blanket.

Hat Sold!!

I sold a Sedona Hat in Pink Camo/Smoked Almond to Kevin in NY.

~I stopped at the post office to mail off a package & pick up stamps.
~At Big Lots,I found 2 skeins of yarn that looks like the SWS wool yarn,but it is nylon/acrylic.Can't wait to make a few scarves with it!
~I helped Chuck load bags at the food pantry.
~I stopped at the Family Thrift Center and got a huge lavender coffee mug,which I plan to leave at work for tea.
~I got groceries at WMS & Smith's.
~At Goodwill,I got 4 skeins(99cents each)of RHS Earth & Sky.It's enough to make a lap blanket!
~Back home,I made Oatmeal cookies,some with crushed peanut M&M toppings and most with mini Reeses peanut butter cups.
~Date Nite was moved to tonight due to a Draw Class being held on Thursday.But,of the 6 people who signed up,4 cancelled,so there will be a date night on Thursday afterall!WooHoo!!
~Tonight,we learned about trigger control & the balance between power/speed/accuracy.I have the power & accuracy,need to work on the speed.I learned alot & it was fun.
~I tried an Oatmeal Peanut M&M cookie.It was nummy!

I stopped at Napa to give Ryan a Chocolate Banana Vanilla Chip mini-bundt cake.

~I served as an usher at church,my forst time.I did forget one bow,but didn't trip on my skirt,LOL.
