~At work,I got the bulletins done by 11am. I spent the rest of the afternoon working on tranferring numbers from the big red book to a spreadsheet for the stewardship committee. ~I fasted from last night to this morning to get bloodwork done. I arrived at the clinic at 7:05am, was the first in line & was home by 7:25am. Boy,was the mocha & omelet wrap good!

~Mike was working on his Bronco this morning,so he drove me to work in my Jeep. He came back about 5 minutes later, having forgotten that he was going to help me with the last of the newsletters! We got them done in no time. Deacon Sam did Wednesday mass, but didn't stay for coffee hour. I mailed bills & worked on stewardship letters & pledge cards.

~Date Nite: I wore my "skirt rig" to practice, since it is how I dress 3-4 days a week. I wasn't much slower this way than with my "pants rig". After warming up, we did weak-hand drills. I used the heel of my boot to rack my slide! I plan to practice this way every 4-6 weeks. I'm glad to know it works!

Remember

"The most foolish mistake we could possibly make would be to permit the conquered Eastern peoples to have arms. History teaches that all conquerors who have allowed their subject races to carry arms have prepared their own downfall by doing so."
--Adolph Hitler, April 11, 1942

~Fr. Jim came into work at 9am to go over the last few edits on the 10/03 bulletins, making suggestions for additional information. He gave me his house key & itinerary. Fr. Dan met him at the office to go to the conference together. I printed out the newsletter, got them all stapled & about half of them folded/taped/stamped/addressed. I loaded 13 bags at the Food Pantry. I gassed my Jeep before heading home.

~Yesterday, I noticed a red stain on my light blue-gray cargo pants,so I sprayed/washed them. The stain is still there & I have no idea what it is! I think I will try to dye them darker gray with black dye. I've never done it before, but I'm willing to try!

~Mike got off at his regular time! I made him a bacon cheeseburger wrap for supper.

~I went back to work around 11:30am. Fr Jim & Ms Jeannine sang "Happy Birthday" to me & gave me a card, small chocolate cake & a pair of silver dangle earrings. They are so sweet! Zucchini Coconut Muffinette

~I made a batch of Chocolate Oatmeal cookies with Peanut Butter chips. I packaged up 2 dozen for Convention. I used, what I thought was a candy pan(shallow 24-count Wilton pan),put it made perfect cookies! I made 2 cookie sheets in that size, one 24-count of mini muffin size & there was enough dough leftover for 6 regular cookies.

~I put the harness'/leashes on Jake & Penny & took them for a walk around the block, just to see how they would do for blessing on Sunday. They did pretty good!

~I dropped off the cookies at the Parish Hall & found the air on & a picture of our friend, Lori's parents on the table. I called Anne and found out Lori's step-dad had passed away & the reception was to be held in the Parish Hall. I went to the office & sent out bulletin emails, which I forgot on Thursday & printed out a map to the Hunter residence.

~At Goodwill, I found Mike a winter cover shirt, a blue leather belt for me & a package of misc cards.

~At the Family Thrift Center, I got a skirt(1/2-price!) & a tweed blazer.

3.Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target.

~Mike got called into work.

~I worked on a little bit of everything today: bulletins for a memorial service & Blessing of the Animals, typing up sample letters for the stewardship drive, mailing out bills. It started raining hard around 2:30pm with it coming in the window & door in Fr Jim's office. I went to the Parish Hall kitchen & grabbed towels to help mop it up. ~I dropped Mike off at home then went back out to Goodwill where I found a little jug that says "Mountain Dew" on it,like a moonshine jug. The cool thing is on the bottom, someone had written "Great Smoky Mountains-1959". It's neat to think of someone from NM going to TN & how different the 2 places are. I didn't find anything at the Family Thrift Center.

~We did laundry & I started a Diamond Prayer Shawl in Caron Sunshine. It is certainly a cheerful color!

~Mike & I went yardsaling for about an hour. I picked up an Anchor Hocking glass that has measurements in ounces, along with ingredients for cocktail drinks. It is the inspiration for a gift basket for the Gift War.

~Back home, I made a Black Forest Dump Cake for Sunday Potluck & a tray of Spinach Devil Eggs for the tea this afternoon.

Sedona Hat in Camo/Blaze sold to Bettina in KY.
Boa Scarf in Mossy Greens sold to Connie in OR.

~The Bonahooms were already at the office when I arrived, doing collection summaries. They both said we had bulletins at last-years picnic. When I pulled it up on the computer, it looked like a regular 10:30am bulletin, which makes no sense, because we won't be taking prayer books or hymnals to the park! So,I spent the morning basicly making a bulletin, adding 4 extra pages, with the text of the readings, psalm, order of mass along with the normal announcements, collection summary, calender, etc. I will be adding one small insert with the words of the opening & closing hymn, which us 4:30pm singers will lead. Kitty

"Porgy"

~I attended Daughters of the King. While we were there, Scott & his son,who help maintain the growns, had the lawnmower send a small rock into the window of a parish hall door. It is double pane,so it only spider-webbed the outside window. I call both the Jr. Warden(gone rock-climbing) & the Treasurer to let them know. Chuck is gone on vacation, so I went ahead & loaded the Food Pantry bags.

~Date Nite: After warming up, we shot on the move, going forward & shooting at multiple targets. The keys are: drop your bottom down & walk heel-to-toe to make a stable platform of your upper body, shoot at 3-5 yards for more accuracy & stay at the same speed. After the break, we did timed shooting of 3, 4 & 5 shots at 3 yards. My fastest first shot was 1.57 seconds,a new record for me!
