It's getting warmer!

Nothing says "warm weather is here" more than cargo shorts (clearance discount store), bright camp shirt (thrift store), & shell/cord choker (from mom-thrift store). So looking forward to it!

~Mike took me to work. I stuffed the rest of the eggs, printed bulletins & worked on calendars.

~Date Nite: After warmups, we concentrated on trigger control. At 7pm, we went into the classroom to go over the NM Justifiable Homicide rules. BTW, the Lemon Snap crust was perfect for the Lemon Thingies!

Spring!

I actually wore this outfit last summer to a wedding, but makes me long for warmer weather. I picked the skirt (half-price!), then found the shirt to match (also half-price!), pairing it with a wood bead necklace (thrift store), burl oak bangle (custom made for me by a KY artisan), and strappy brown leather sandal (not pictured, but also from the thrift store). This outfit was different than I normally wear, and though pretty and it looked good on me, I was uncomfortable in it. I do like the color/pattern, though.

~We stopped by the church to set up coffee before heading to the range. Though I took this class last November, it was like it was all brand new! It took me quite a while to get the system back right. Of course, I am shooting a different gun, but it was better by the end of the day. So tired!

Goes with...

...everything! This skirt has seven colors in it, so seven different looks. This time, it's paired with a pink shirt. I pulled the black & turquoise up into the bead necklace & silver/turquoise earrings (a gift from the Hunter's).

~At the office, I worked on bulletins, newsletter & address list.

~We attended the Vestry meeting.

Costume

I started out with the idea of Alice in Resident Evil:Apocalypse. Of course, Mila is in the desert & I'm in colder weather, so I didn't go as skimpy. From the thrift store, I got the camo leggings, cream undershirt, brown over shirt, cord duster, neck scarf & bandolier belt(over shoulder). From my "costume closet", web waist & thigh belts, fingerless gloves. From my regular closet, western boots(not in the picture), leather belt, holster rig, canvas bag. From Mike's stuff, hunting knife, boot knife(not in pic), watch & canvas cap.

Walking on Sunshine!!

This outfit makes me happy! The floral skirt (thrift shop) is one of the few yellow items I have (this color normally does not look good with my skin-tone), but when it's paired with a periwinkle Tshirt(thrift shop), 1950's vintage choker (estate sale) & clear brown earrings (Dollar Tree), it is the way to wear it!

~Mike took me to work this morning & started on switching the ac to heat. I paid bills, started work on the November newsletter & worked on bulletins. The electrician came in to replace some bulbs. Ms. Dorothy ordered a baby blanket in RHS Gemstone, paying me up front for the yarn. I have 5 containers of candied cherries to cut up before Sunday for the English Lemon fruit cakes!

~I started an Artisan Scarf in Bernat boucle Cloud Nine & started reviewing the info for the worship committee meeting on Saturday.

~We had bacon cheeseburger wraps for supper.

Gingham is a girl's best friend!

This brown/beige gingham skirt (thrift store) acts as a solid, but with more interest. Paired with a spicy clove T-shirt(thrift store), necklace(made by Susan), stone earrings(yard sale) & wood inlay silver leaf ring(clearance from online store), it is the perfect balance of early autumn tones.

~At the office, I mainly worked on the newsletter, making the final edits, printing, collating, stapling, addressing & even got some folded/taped/stamped. I also worked on bulletins & prayers.

~Mike texted me he was closing so I took him a PB/AB wrap & a cola.

~I made a toddler beanie in RHS Pale Green/unknown Fruit Smoothies. I also worked on scrap squares.

In remembrance...

...of Ms. Edla, who went to be with the Lord in May. She willed the scarf to me, along with a Dusty Rose suede jacket. I had never worn a scarf before, but did on the day of her memorial service. It makes me feel close to her now whenever I wear any scarf. It is paired with a solid denim dusty rose skirt( thrift shop), a brown t-shirt(thrift shop), the made-for-me burl oak bangle & hand-made rose quartz stone earring(a gift from my sister).

~We got groceries at Walmart & Smith's.

~Mike has the day off & we attended the 10:30 A.M. service. He helped Usher while I was Crucifer & Acolyte #1. We helped with cleanup after Coffee Hour.

~We helped out at CCW class. Afterwards, we went to the Hunter's for Mike to fix the DVD player. He did!

On a windy day...

...I wear pants to church! Herringbone trousers(Goodwill) paired with turquoise camp shirt(thrift shop), black Mary Janes (thrift shop), black "biker-chick" purse (thrift shop), pewter earring (yard sale), silver/turquoise ring (yard sale) & black crochet shawl (made for me by a friend).

~I made Ginger Coconut bars right after breakfast. While they were baking, I ironed some clothes & put away the dishes.

~I got a skein of LB Homespun Grape at JoAnn's for a special-order hat, dropped off my black boots at the shop for heel repair, got the clock at the church thrift shop (1/2-price at $5!), stopped by Big Lots, Thrift Town(nothing), dropped off PB Crispies for the Napa Boys, mailed off a package, fed Ms. Callie Cat, got a few groceries & dropped off a food bag.

~Back home, I made a special-order Cheyenne Hat in LBH Grape with 3 different flower pins in fuchsia & orange.

~I made Mike a chicken wrap for supper.

~We watched the last of The Pacific.

Almost Fall!!

Fall is my favorite time of the year! I can have a taste of the season all year 'round with this shades-of-autumn skirt(thrift shop), paired with a brown T-shirt(thrift shop) & accented with twisted bead necklaces(thrift shop), onyx ring(clearance from online store) & silver bear earrings(inherited from my MIL). I can almost smell the woodsmoke in the air!

~Mike took me to work early to help with the newsletters. He also attended 10am mass. Those who tried my Potato Chip Pecan Sandies liked them. I worked on the September calender, bulletins & prayers of the people. Around 11:45am, the a/c stopped working. The guys came & fixed it around 2pm.

~I made a Sedona hat in RHS Stars & Stripes/Royal Blue.

~We watched The Pacific.

Tropic at night

This is a darker take on a "tropical" look. I pulled the green from the skirt(thrift shop) up into a dark olive T-shirt(thrift shop), added a one-of-a-kind necklace(created by Susan) accented with silver earrings (gift from the Hunter's) & floral ring (online sale).

~At the office, I worked on bulletins, the flyer for the annual picnic & got the convention info mailed out.

~I made a Fruit Snuggie in retro Green Ombre.

~We had burgers for supper.

Little House in the Desert

This outfit reminds me of "Little House on the Prairie". The skirt(thrift shop), in a sweet calico print & home made, has a row of buttons sewn on the front. I pair it with a rose heather t-shirt(thrift shop) & jewelry(necklace by Susan, earring-thrift shop, ring-inherited from MIL) in neutral stones.

~Mike drove me to work. I did edits on bulletins & got them printed out and done quick. I spent the rest of the afternoon working on the September newsletter. I helped Julie with the Food Pantry, where we gave away all 20 bags.

~Date Nite-After warmup, we concentrated on only shooting when we lined up the sights. We also had some classroom time with a chart to show us why our flyers are where they are. Also, before class, I shot the EBR. It was awesome!!

Casual Friday!

Tone-on-tone aloha shirt paired with boy cargo pants. The pink jewelry brings out the colorful band inside the collar.

~I went to Albertsons for a few things & brought them back home before heading pout again. I made a quick run through the Family Thrift Center before heading up to the church. AM met me there to help sort/catalog the items collected for the school supply drive. It seems like more than previous years. We delivered the items, just across the street from the church. I picked up JF's food bag & delivered it. A stop back by the house to pick up/drop off Peanut Butter Crispies for the Napa Boys. Tried on 2 shirts at Goodwill, but both too big.

~Back home, I swept the floor, unloaded the dishwasher & sorted vegetables.

~I made 3 flower pins from RH Lustersheen for headbands. I also started a Round Ripple in Caron Taupe/RHS Frosty Green Fleck for the Food Fair & Bazaar raffle in November.

~I designed a Fruit Snuggy & it is adorable! I'll be making these for the FF&B, too!

New category!

Thrift Shop Fashion
"Posh Patchwork"
The Skirt(thrift shop) is comprised of patches in various shades of neutral tans & browns with shades of rose. I chose to bring out the rose shade by pairing it with a rose T-shirt(thrift shop) & kept the jewelry(earrings-Dollar Tree, necklace-thrift shop, bracelet-handcrafted especially for me by a KY artisan in burl oak) & purse(thrift shop) in neutral shades.

~We got groceries at Walmart & Smiths.

~I attended 10:30 A.M. service where I served as Crucifer & Acolyte #1. After Coffee Hour, I helped JH with security.

~I spent the afternoon sorting more donated yarn & making scrap squares.

~We had grilled hotdog cheese wraps for supper & watched "Death Race". It was cool!
