Dark Chocolate Macaroons

~I went early to Walmart and Smith's for Food Pantry groceries, delivering them to the church. I stopped by Big Lots for a few more groceries.

~Back home, I sorted sugar into baggies & swept the floor.

~At church I served as Lay Reader at The Seven Last Words of Christ service. Deacon Sam reads this story at the "It is finished" section. It reminds me of who I was & who I am.

I accidentally left out 1 cup of rice cereal when I made this batch. They turned out more dense, but still yummy!

~We got groceries at Walmart.

~Mike & I attended 8:00 A.M. service together. He then went to work. I stayed & talked with Fr. Daniel, our guest. I attended 10:30 A.M. service where i served as Crucifer, "Evangelist" of the Passion narrative , Acolyte & Lay Eucharistic Minister. After coffee hour, Anne, Kristen & me put Easter Sunday flyer's on neighborhood doors.

Mmmmm!

This is my Oatmeal Jam Bar recipe using a jar of Sourcherry (yes, that is how it was spelled on the bottle) jam from Big Lots "international" section. It was more of whole cherries in thick syrup, then real jam. It was very liquidy when it came out of the oven, but turned out very chewy. The guys really liked it!

~At the office, I got the newsletter printed/collated/stapled & addressed. I also booked 3 more outdoor spaces for the Spring Craft Fair.

~I worked on scrap granny squares.

~We had omelet wraps for supper & watched 2 more episodes of Merlin.

Mmmmm!

Kiss My Pig Cookies-I used a chocolate chip cookie recipe, substituting bacon grease for the butter & chopped up Hershey's Kisses for the chips. So good, even a pig will go cannibal for them!

~I made a batch of Mocha Brownies for the class, since the instructor likes brownies so much. They were really good!

~Day at the range. I used our AR-15 today. It is heavier, but it makes for a lower recoil. It also has a bright orange front sight which is also better. Since our class was so proficient, we did shooting on the move & pivots, which we didn't do last November. Date Night: We concentrated on basics, shot placement & keeping the sights on the target while pressing the trigger.

~I made a Butterfly Pinafore in the above mentioned Sugarplum with white shell buttons.

~I made Mike a meatball wrap for supper.

~We watched Beowulf & Grendel. This was more of a drama, a little too slow & bloody for me. I do like Gerard Butler alot!

Here are the bowls, ready for the freezer

~I went to the Family Thrift Center, but didn't find anything. I then drove down town to drop off paperwork for the craft fair, but when I got there, i found that we had mapped for Silver SE, not Silver SW! I then came back to napa & dropped off cookies for the boys.

~Back home, I made Dirty Rice & a Butterfly Pinafore in Baby Bee Hushabye Boo Pink with gray buttons.

~When Mike got home, we went up to the church to clean up the mess from the grease-trap work. It looked like Kyle had already taken care of it, so we put away tools & straightened everything up.

~Back home, I made Mike a meatball sandwich for supper.

~We watched King Arthur. This is one of our favorite movies!

Gunfighter Brownies dressed up for Valentine's Day

~I took my yarn with me to the church parking lot and started a Roseburg Hat in Lion Brand Vanna's Choice Mustard, waiting for Fr. Jim to pick me up. He drove us to St. Chad's for the NW Deanery meeting, my first such meeting as a delegate for St. Mary's . We met Ms. Dorothy there, who is an Alternate. It was an interesting meeting, not near as boring as I had expected. I did work on the hat during the lunch break, almost completing it. I was back home by 3pm.

~I started a load of laundry & added a flower pin to the hat in periwinkle.

~I made Mike a warm ham/cheese wrap for supper.

~We went up to the office early to do some computer work with the craft show & Mike marked off table spaces in the Parish Hall. I also set up coffee.

~We spent the day at the range helping with CCW Draw Class. The cornbread was awesome! This is the first time I made it in the pyrex dishes & it was so moist. This is the way I will always make it from now on.

Mmmmm!

Apple Bran Muffin with golden raisins & sunflower seeds

~I stopped by Big Lots before heading up to the church to load bags at the Food Pantry. I sorted mail, checked my emails.

~At the Family Thrift Center, I found a pair of Hawaiian print pillow cases on sale 1/2-price to make little girl dresses. I then went to Hobby Lobby to check on yarn to match. They don't carry Cotton Ease, but their I Love This Cotton! is very soft, so I got a skein of Taupe. When I got home, I found the Seaspray I bought last week also matches!

~I made a pan of fudge brownies, did a load of laundry & swept the floors. It was 2pm by the time the pillow cases were washed/dried, so I will wait until Saturday to start my girl dress. I did make a mesh soap cozy in Ecru thread.

Mmmmm!

Swedish Ginger Cookies on a birth-month saucer(with matching tea cup-a gift from Mom). It takes about 2 pounds of bacon to get enough bacon grease to make these cookies. One usually thinks of spicy cookies as a holiday thing, but I make these year-round & they are liked by all!

Mmmmm!

Chocolate Peppermint Pretzel Chips-These are one of my favorite things!

~The roads were clear when I went out around 9am. I spent probably and hour at Dollar Tree before getting groceries at Walmart. Mike had received a $67 gift card from work for doing a good job on the last sale day. It paid for most of the groceries!

~Back home, I just lounged around until it was time for the Gray funeral, the son of one of our parishioners. I was one of 11 members from St. Mary's to attend.

~Back home, I again lounged around until Mike came home. We went to the funeral of his co-worker. I think i have had about all of these I want for a while.

Mmmmm!

Angel Eggs-plain & spinach, with Splenda sweet pickles

~Mike drove me to work & check to make sure there was no damage to the roof from the wind last week. I was done with the bulletins by 10:30am & worked on calenders & newsletter for January. Roy came in & bought a hat from me & Norm brought my syrup. We gave away all 20 bags at the food pantry.

~Date Nite: After warmups, we concentrated on finding the sights & multiple small targets on one target sheet. After break, both Mike & I shot our revolvers. It is super-quick drawing from the front pocket with your hand already on the gun. I was very pleased with how easy the revolver is to shoot.
