~It is so cold!! I stayed home to make Peanut Butter Oatmeal blondies with chocolate chips before heading out.

~I went to Albertsons(Lomas)to look for flatbreads, but all they had was sundried tomato. I did pick up Vanilla Coke Zero, 3 for $9.99, ice cream & soup. I went to Goodwill & Family Thrift Center, but didn't find anything. Before heading home, I checked Albertson(Commanche)& they didn't even have the rack for flatbreads!

~Back home, I made a Boa Scarf in CSS Mango/Caron Feathers Peacock & a Flapper Beanie in RHS Cafe/unknown Wine.

~Mike got off work at 4:30pm. We had burgers & watched Chronicles of Narnia-Prince Caspian.

~Fr. Jim & Ms Jeannine came in around 9:45am to do bulletin edits. It started snowing around 10:30am. I got all my bulletins done & started on next weeks. Slow afternoon.
~We got a new TV system installed. I don't know what we had before or what we have now. Mike takes care of all that. I just want the the TV to work when I push "On", LOL.
~Date Nite-Only 7 shooters. We did the APD qualifying drill. I made 78 first time & 80 second time(80 is passing). I had a weird class-3 malfunction that Mike had to use his knife to fix!

Pepper is for food...

...not for primary protection. I do carry mine, along with my cell phone & knife, in places a CCW in not allowed. This may occur 4-5 times a year.

~Mike drove me to work & stayed to help me with the newsletter. Fr. jim alos came in just long enough for mass & to check his email. We also went over the bulletins & PoP. I mailed bills & started cleaning out last-years catalogs.

~Back home, I swept the floors & dusted.

~I started a Diamond prayer Shawl in RHS Fiesta Country Blue, the yarn I picked up from the PSM closet at the church.

~We had pizza & watched Chronicles of Narnia. It is in our Top 10 favorite movies!

~I went up to the Family Thrift Center about 10 minutes before opening time,surprised that it was not full. It did fill up later,though. I found a skirt, denim blazer, 3 t-shirts, a hat & scarf for the Woolly Tree box, Christmas cards for next year & an angel banner, all for under $20. I got flatbreads at Albertsons & went to 3 stores looking for RHS Dark Sage & didn't find any! I went ahead & got a skein of RHS Painted Desert to finish the lap blanket. At Michael's I got 4 skeins of under $2.50 Homespun & one at under $4 for a special-order hat.

~Back home, I made a pan of fudge brownies.

~I made a Roseburg hat in Pale Pink/Black & finished off the Painted Desert lap blanket.

~Mike closed the store.

~We got groceries at Walmart & Smith's. We also got gas there for the Bronco, 10 cents cheaper per gallon using our rewards.

~I made a fruit salad for Coffee Hour using some of the fruit from the basket Mr. Sam & Mary gave me & the cashews from the tray Fr. Jim & Jeannine gave us.

~I attended/ushered at 10:30am service & helped with Coffee Hour afterwards. Everybody like the fruit salad.

~Back home, I cooked bacon & read the funnies.

~I made a Bottineau Hat in Pumpkin/Black fun fur.

~We attended 4:30pm service.

Merry Christmas!!!

~Mike & I attended the 10:00 A.M. Deacons Mass where I had my first go at Acolyte. I was also the Crucifer(carrier of the cross), which I wasn't trained at. I walked too fast & didn't know how the holder worked! Other than that, I did okay.

~We spent the day just lounging around. I made a Sedona Hat in one strand each RH Symphony Juniper & fingering weight Black. I added a band in Black wool, along with a flower pin. I alos finished a Garland of Blossoms scarf in Hunter Green/Multicolor.

Merry Christmas Eve!

~I opened the box sent by Mom from KY. Lots of cool things!

~I went to the Family Thrift Center, finding 2 shirts, one I paid for & put on even before leaving the store! I stopped by Napa to see Mike. He thought he was going to work only til 2pm, but texted me he worked until 4pm.

~I swept the floor, worked on the Painted Desert granny lap blanket & took a nap.

~Mike & I went up to the church early to help with any last-minute things before the service started at 5pm. I ended up helping as "music director" for the organist/pianist & leading the service music. The Contemporary Worship Group sang "Angels we have heard on high". We got applause! It was a wonderful evening.

Scarf sold!!

~Mike came in around 10am to help fold the Christmas Eve bulletins. I was doing edits on the regular Sunday bulletins & the newsletter. The Hunter's gave us a big platter with holly,berrys & a cardinal with "Home Sweet Home" on it. I love it! They liked their gifts too. I got the Sunday bulletins printed/folded/stuffed & the Contemporay music folders alphabetized. I'm doing the first reading on Christmas Eve 5pm service. All the work is done, so now just to enjoy my weekend.

~Date Nite-After warmup, shooting in the dark with flashlights. I dislike these drills the most, but am pretty good at it. We ended the night with timed shooting at 3 yards. First shots under 1.7 with the last drill being rapid-fire 5 shots. First shot 1.41 seconds. I have gotten over the mental hurdle of thinking I can only go at one speed. In the past month, I have gotten consistantly under2 seconds on first shot.

~Only one bill to mail, but TONS of work on bulletins. Ms. Jeannine came in for edits to 2 bulletins and one bulletins we just made edits to on the computer while she was there. Christmas Day bulletin was no problem, with only one sheet & one insert. I got those 20 done in no time. Christmas Eve,2 services,each with 2 sheets, printed seperately with the fancy preprinted covers, then 3 inserts for both for a total of 155. Also did edits on Sunday the 26th bulletin, PoP & rough draft of the January newsletter. My head feels like it's going to EXPLODE!!!

~Mocha, pizza, beer & crocheting went a long way towards calming me done,LOL.

~I went to Albertson's(flatbreads, cocoa & sf sweeteners), Goodwill(nothing), Family Thrift Center(nothing), Michael's(50%-off coupon for Caron Pounder in Black) & Hobby Lobby(40%- off coupon on RHS painted Desert).

~Back home, I did a load of laundry, baked Bahama Mama bars & made Chocolate Peppermint Pretzel Chips for the Napa Boys.

~I finished a Cheyenne hat in LB Homespun "Earth".

~Mike closed the store.

~I made Kielbasa Asparagus Cheddar casserole for 3rd Sunday Potluck & attended 4:30pm service. I gave everyone Button Tree ornaments.

~I made my Spinach Alfredo Meatballs for the party tonight. They are better if heated, cooled down, refrigerated, then reheated.

~I attended the Parish Planning Meeting & Acolyte training. I will have my first acolyte experience on Christmas morning mass!

~I have been working on & off on a Tweed Tassel Scarf in Orange wool. I finally got it done & all the fringes frayed out.

~I went to music practice. We are doing all Christmas carols tomorrow!

~We attended the "Date Nite/Choir Practice" Christmas party at the instructors house. Lots of good food & camaraderie. The spincah meatballs & Chocolate Iced brownies were liked!

Lap Blanket

~Just a light dusting of snow in the back yard this morning.

~I made a batch of Oatmeal Blondies,which turned out to be crunchy granola bars instead. They are still good.

~I took the toys I had purchased in the previous weeks down to Bibles Plus, a collection site for Wings for Life. I asked about donating my crochet toys, the clerk didn't know & suggested I call the radio station .They said yes. I donated 22 Turtles & Octopi.

~I went to Walmart(peanut butter packets & pointy-tip cotton swaps), Dollar Tree(Santa platter, peanuts), Family Thrift Center(nothing) & Goodwill(plaid throw & pig ornament).

~I swept the floor then spent the rest of the afternoon crocheting. I finished a roseburg Hat in RHS Ranch Red/Bright Rust. I also made 2 Stained Glass Granny squares & a Tie Dye Beanie in retro LoveKnit Red Ombre.

~I made a scarf for Debbie in some yarn she sent me, Moda Dea Curious in Ivory.

~It took forever to get the bulletins done!There were 2 extra inserts along with the regular inserts. I almost forgot to type the gospel into the Contemporary Service program!

~Date Nite: We did controlled shooting with no time limits to get the most-perfect shots we could. My groups were the smallest,but accuracy has never been my problem.

Pearl Harbor Day


~I hung our flag before leaving for work.

~At the office, I worked on bulletins, PoP, ingredient lists & lots of other little things. Norm brought me a muffin & a Christmas ornament pin! After lucnh, Chris came from the printer company to show me how to do the Christmas bulletins. I wrote everything down this time! I had problems with my computer all day.

~I dropped off S'more brownies for the Napa Boys.

~I swept the floor & made a Neckwarmer in LB WoolEase Chunky Spice.

~Mike got off at his normal time. I made him a chicken bacon cheese wrap for supper.

~At Big Lots, I got a few more things for the Food Pantry & 2 boxes of truffles(for gifting, I swear!).

~I helped Chuck load bags at the Food Pantry, called in payroll & helped with wrapping goodies for the Food Fair & Festival.

~At Goodwill, I found a skirt & a plate. At the Family Thrift Center, I got a small picture.

~Back home, I glued together wood clothespins to make stars. I tried shoe polish for "stain", but it stank too bad. Will have to come up with Plan B.

~I made a Scarflette in CSS Orchid/unknown confetti Tart Sweeties. I has 2 balls of the Tart Sweeties,so I made a Confetti Hat wit the second ball, holding it together with unknown Cream. It looks like vanilla Funfetti icing!

~We had pizza for supper.

~I went to work about 1/2 an hour early to look through the garland box Anne Meyer brought up. It has 2 garlands, one garland with lights & 3 wreaths. I put the garland with the lights around my office window, twice, & hung the cutout card hearts on it. It's cute! I hung the other 2 garlands around the conference room windows.
~I got the bulletins done in time to attend the St. Elizabeth's Guild Christmas potluck. Mike came,too! I went back to the office when the "program" started.
~Date Nite:After warmups, we did different reloading drills. Not bad, but I an inconsistant. I did get a 1.65 at the 3-yd line!

~At the office,I worked on bulletins & PoP. I tried to remember how I printed out the Christmas bulletins last year, but couldn't figure it out. I called the printer company to have someone come out & show me next week.

~I needed something sweet for the potluck tomorrow & I didn't feel like baking. I got some chocolate & hazelnut truffles at Big Lots. They are AWESOME!!

Rainbow Granny Square lap blanket

Rainbow Granny Square Lap Blanket-I started with my "purple" bag of yarn & made a 5-round square from each color, joining as I went. I then did the "blues" bag & "greens" bag. Edged in Black. Donated to the VA Hospital by St. Mary's Prayer Shawl Ministry.


~At Big Lots, I picked up 4 kid's games for the Wings for L.I.F.E. drive.

~I helped Chuck load bags at the Food Pantry, then helped the ladies sort & price White Elephant items. We also put up a permanent display of raffle items in the parish hall. We weren't done until noon, so I went home instead of to thrift stores.

~I swept the floors & did a load of laundry.

~I made a Cheyenne Hat in Brown/Cream tweed yarn from Big Lots. It is more of a DK weight, so it is a smaller preteen size. Next time, I will hold 2 strands together.

~Mike got off at 4:30pm! I love having him home early!!

~I made flower centers for a Garland of Blossoms scarf in RHS Lipstick.
