Missed Sunday!

Sunday-August 30

~I was so busy yesterday morning preparing food for the reception,I wasn't able to get online.

~I made a tray of plain eggs with cheese chunks & carrot sticks,a tray of spinach eggs with dill pickles,a tray of peanut butter/raisin cinnamon mini-sandwiches & pulled from the freezer 24 mini-oatmeal cookies & 14 zucchini muffin tops.

~Confirmation went well.I was very nervous & almost tripped on my skirt after the bishop blessed me,but I recovered,LOL.The reception was also nice.

~Mike,Susie,Anne,Wyatt,Jenny,Kyle,Sarah & I went out to the west side shooting.It was fun,but my nose got sunburned!

~We had bacon cheeseburgers for supper.

~I stopped at Big Lots for cereal fruit bars for food-bag extras.I also got a box of FiberOne chocolate toaster pastries & a box of Yogi African Redbush Peach tea.

~Chuck is gone a week to visit folks in Kansas,so I packed 20 bags by myself.It took about 15 minutes longer than usual.

~I went to Good will & found a tapestry jacket,a candle,a book,a picture frame & misc greeting cards.The lady must have given me the senior discount because this all came to under $6!

~I got a priority shipping box at the post office,but the line was too long to get the eight 1cent stamps I had planned to get.

~Everybody was busy at Napa,so I just left the Ginger Doughboys on Jason's desk.(Mike later texted me,asking when I had come,since he didn't see me)

~I did 2 loads of laundry,vacuumed the floor & wrote thank-you cards.

~I got the yarn I ordered for special-request Flapper Skullcaps & made one in LB CottonEase Golden Glow.I spent the rest of the afternoon working on the Scrap Ripple lap blanket.

~We had grilled smoked sausage for supper.

~We watched about 1 1/2 episodes of the Season 1 of "The Shield".We won't be watching anymore of it.

~We all gathered at the church at 9:30am to go through the confirmation ceremony.Mike went back to work,while the rest of us stayed to help set up the hall.
~Susie & I went to lunch at Just Muffin Around,then to Jackalope to look at trees.We went by her house so she could show me her landscape,then brought me home.
~I worked on the Baby,Baby lap blanket,adding Cornmeal along with the Lavender,Delft Blue & Frosty Green.
~Mike got off work an hour early.
~We had bacon cheeseburgers for supper.

Worst Gun Laws in the Worst States in the US


~I had a Daughters of the King class with Ms Edla at 9:30am.I dug up a few weeds until she arrived.It went well!
~I turned in a book at the library.I then went to a book store,hoping to find a used copy of the book I just returned.None available & I refuse to pay $8 for a book I will,most likely,read once.I also stopped at the Red Cross thrift store,but didn't find anything.
~I made a special-order Flapper Skullcap in Lion Brand CottonEase "Azalea".I spent the rest of the afternoon(except for a 1/2hour nap)working on scrap lap blankets.
~We had Chicken bacon cheese sammies for supper & watched "Race to Witch Mountain".It was fun!

Us!

~Hike to Shelter Rock,not too cool,but very windy.

~I did 2 loads of laundry,swept/mopped the kitchen/utility rooms,vauumed the other floors & dusted the living room.
~After lunch,I went up to the church to water the roses.I also swept up tree droppings & dug weeds from the parking lot.
~I helped Julie fold church bulletins & hand out 21 bags.We were done with that part at 1:25pm.I dug more weeds until 2pm.
~At Goodwill,I didn't find anything,but did see one of the Brothers of St Andrew.
~At the Family Thrift Center,I got a T-shirt & 2 tea balls.
~Back home,I worked on scrap lap blankets.
~Mike had to work until 6pm due to one of his co-workers being out.I made him a bacon cheeseburger sammie for supper.

Bottle Cozies sold!

I sold 3 Bottle Cozies to William in AZ:Vivid Purple/Electric Blue,Obsidian/Jade & Dune/Mars.

~Mike had a dentist appointment at 7:30am,just another fitting for his upper plate.We were back home at 7:50am!I started a Cheyenne Hat in Bernat Softee Chunky Hot Pink.

~I'm in the process of downloading all the patterns from the LionBrand website that they have now made free.Loads!I'm working on a tweed Neckwarmer in a sparkly yellow-gold & green-yellow heather.
~Around 9:40am,we went down to Caliber's to shoot.I'm very pleased with my progress!
~Back home & after lunch,more downloading of patterns & neckwarmer-making.Finally done downloading at 1:10pm!
~I finished the Neckwarmer,Mustard/Palmetto tweed,adding Bark brown buttons.
~I finished a Checkerboard granny square lap blanket,adding a picot edging in Rust.
~We had reheated grilled smoked sausage for supper.
~We attended the last Pilgrims in Christ class.

Hat Sold!!

I sold a Cheyenne Hat in Homespun Herb Garden/Henna to Bonnie in WI.

~I had an 8am mammogram appointment,my first.It wasn't as bad as I had heard it was.Was in & out in 10 minutes!

~We got groceries at WMS.I tried on 8 pairs of boys cargo pants,from 14 husky to 18 regular.Everything was either too small or too big.

~After coming back home & unloading groceries,we went to look at guns.I got a mag holder for our draw class next week.We got a few more groceries at Costco.

~While out,I made a Roseburg Hat in RHS Hot Red.

~Around 2pm,I dropped off Cocoa Chocolate Chip zucchini bread for the Napa boys.We went next door to Kaufmans for a mag holder for Mike.

~I worked on scrap granny squares.

~We had bacon cheseburger sammies for supper.

It rained off & on all night & into this morning.Highs predicted in the the low-80's!

~I picked up fruit cereal bars at Big Lots for the food pantry,along with tea & poptarts.

~I helped Chuck load bags & pickd up a little trash.

~I looked for the yarn I need for special-order hats at Hobby Lobby,but they didn't have it.

~I got cans of almonds at Walgreens buy-one-get-one-free.

~North on Wyoming,I ran out of gas at Menaul.The gauge still said 1/4 full!.Luckily,a lady& man helped me push it into the JoAnn's parking lot.Mike came & gave me enough fuel to get to a gas station.From now on,when the gauge reads 1/2,I'm filling up!

~Michaels had 2 of the colors I needed for the special-order hats.Hobby Lobby across the street didn't.

~When I got home,I ordered the yarn I needed on line.

~I made a special-order Flapper Skullcap in LB CottonEase "Cherry".

~I started a new lap blanket from a pattern called "Baby,Baby".The main color is RHS Lavender,3 rows of Vst.The second color is RHS Delft,2 rows of 3-dc clusters(what I call the granny-square stitch).3 more rows of Lavender Vst,2 rows RHS Frosty Green 3-dc clusters.You get the idea.I will,most likely use 2-3 more colors other than what has been stated.Mike said it was pretty.

~We had bacon cheeseburger sammies for supper.

Hug!

Special-order Mastercard Hug.I heard the receiver loved it!

~Hike to Coffee Rock with a stop at Smith's for CarbMaster yogurt.They had 4 new flavors!

~I took baked goods & 3 hats for Bryan to look at to Napa.

~I got to church early,so I went over to the hall.Some of the 8amer's were still there.Xander gave me an invitation to his 2nd birthday party!I helped with coffee hour.

~There was a homeless lady sleeping in the parking lot,so Fr Jim & some other talked to her to see if she needed help.She said she was going to a friends house.I put together a food bag for her from the pantry.

~Susie came by & picked me up at 1pm for the play.On the way to pick up Jenny & Sarah,a couple of teen boys in their Mom's minivan wanted to race us!Susie drives a Pontiac G6 convertible.

~We met the Mallory's & Lori at the Adobe theater.We saw "Back to the 80's".It was fun!

~Mike was already home & had made the coffee.I made him a bacon cheeseburger sammie for supper.A ham/cheese/mayo sammie hit the spt for me!

~I worked on scrap granny squares & we watched more Sarah Connor Chronicles.

Purse & Rose Pins Sold!!

Hike to Shelter Rock,windy & cool.

~I sold the following items to Robin in MA:Tweed Feed Bag in Aspen Print/Avocado & large rose pins in Cypress,Harvest,Gray Heather & Aspen Print.

~I shredded the Monster Zucchini from Anne's garden.It made 6 cups.From this,I made:2 flat plain breads(used the wrong size loaf pans-taste awesome!),1 Cocoa Chocolate Chip loaf(tasty,but not too sweet) & 23 Spice Muffin Tops(has coconut,pecans,currants,cinnamon & nutmeg-very good & hearty!).The last cup I sauteed in bacon grease with black olives & mushrooms,sprinkling parm cheese on top.Yummy!
~I finished the Gingham Granny lap blanket by adding a round around the 5x5 squares in the colors used in the squares-unknown Cream,unknown Light Blue & RHS Soft Navy.The final touch was a round of sc in Cream.
~I worked some on scrap lap blankets.
~We had bacon cheeseburger sammies for supper.

Different!

Scrap Tweed Tassel Bag

~Hike to Shelter Rock.It is getting cool enough in the mornings,that I put my gloves in my backpack when I got back home.

~I did a load of laundry.

~I did some banking,then went to the Family Thrift Center.I tried on 2 pair of pants that didn't fit.

~Back home,lunch,then up to the church.Anne was watering the pine & pinon trees,so I went around & picked up tree droppings & dug dead grass from the parking lot cracks.I then watered the roses.Miss Edla came by,knowing I would be there,to check on a meeting time for DoK training.

~We gave out 20 bags of food.I helped fold bulletins & worked on the Painted Pony lap blanket.Pat & Julie liked the ginger snaps!

~At Goodwill,I picked up a meat mallet,2 slotted serving spoons,a iced-tea spoon with a pretty handle & a tiny silver-plate spoon.I also got a necklace.

~After vacuuming the floors,I continued working on the Paint Pony lap blanket.

~Mike made his own supper.

Hike to Coffee Rock.

~After breakfast,I picked up the back yard,then Mike weed-wacked & mowed.

~I washed the motorcycle & Mike fixed the kick-stand.It drags badly when we go around a corner.

~We rode the motorcycle down to Caliber's to shoot,coming back on the interstate.It is so different than being inside a vehicle!

~Back home & after lunch,I cleaned up patterns on the computer.

~We have one section of yard that doesn't grow very well.It has weeds & I told Mike this was probably why the grass wasn't growing.I started pulling the weeds,then Mike decided to go get some weed killer.Better than pulling!

~I made a Little Octopus in RHS Banana Berry.

~We had Bacon Cheeseburger sammies for supper.

~We attended Pilgrims in Christ class.

Another life-skill children should be taught

Learn About Guns
I didn't grow up with guns,but my husband & his siblings did.As important a safety lesson to teach as traffic,fire,electricity,etc.
~Mike is back on early shift,except for every other Monday.WooHoo!!
~I went down to Walgreens for 49cent Mars products.I got 6 bags of Dark Chocolate M&M's,which I've never had before.Strictly for baking purpose.Really.I promise not to eat them.Very.Much,LOL!
~At Big Lots,I got food pantry bag extras(cereal fruit bars,wheat/cheese cracker sandwiches & pretzel/cheese dippers).They had Twinings 4 Red Fruits (now called Mixed Berry)black tea,one of my favs!
~I helped Chuck load 15 bags.He told me the back side of the church was hit with grafitti on Saturday night.A police officer came out to look at it while I was there,cleaning up tree droppings(flowers,leaves,seed pods).
~At Goodwill,I found a book of days & what looks like a portable liquor set.It's in a small leather case & holds 3 nesting metal shot glasses,a corkscrew & a corked pourer(like you see on balsamic vinegar bottles).The case says "Made in Germany,US-Zone".It just seemed interesting!
~I made 2 speacial-order rose pins(similiar to this,but with an extra round of petals),one in Gray Heather & one in Cypress.I also made a Sedona Hat in LB Vannas Choice Charcoal Heather & a Solitude Hat in Caron Wintuk Black/RHS Gray Heather.I want to give Bryan more than one hat to choose from.
~Mike got home at 4:45pm.Better than 6:45pm!We had Bacon Cheeseburger sammies for supper & watched 2 more episode of Sarah Connor Chronicles.

Mmmmmm!

Happy 20th Anniversary to Us!

~Hike to Coffee Rock with a stop at Smith's for yogurt.

~I went up to the church at 9am to take group pictures for the directory.I was with the Food Pantry & Daughters of the King.I stayed until 9:3am,having a cup of coffee in the hall.

~Back home,I started a load of laundry.I also dropped of a small plate of cookies for the Napa boys.I also showed Bryan the skein of LB Vannas Choice "Charcoal Print".He said he liked it better for a beanie than the RHS Zebra(what I made his can cozy from).

~I attended church & helped with coffee hour afterwards.

~Back home,I gathered trash/recyclables,emptied the dish washer & finished laundry.

~I started the Charcoal Print beanie in hdc,but ripped it out.I'm going to just use my Sedona Hat pattern,using hdc for the sides only.We'll see how it looks.

~I got to the Ice Cream Social at 3:15pm,taking my Ginger Doughboys,Peanut Butter Blossom & Peanut Butter Cookies.They were welcomed!Thehome-made ice cream was good & the gathering was fun.Mike came at 4:30pm,after he got off work.

~We had reheated grilled smoked sausage for supper.

~We started the Sarah Connor Chronicles on DVD.We love the no commercials!

Typical female,LOL!

I LOVE vintage-look purses,tapestry & hand-made.Most purchased for very little at yard sales & thrift shops.The clutch,top-center,was a gift from my sister,Debbie.

~Susie & I went yard-saling.I got a mesh tea-infuser(.25),four 3-hook holders($2) & 6 kabob skewers(.25).We had lunch at La Chantilly.I had a Florentine cookie,which I plan to find a recipe for.

~We went around to different places looking for an umbrella for Susie's outdoor set,but couldn't find one.She did get a small fire pit.

~We met Anne at 2pm & drove to her SIL's mothers house for a Southern Living at Home party.As a "guest",I got 2 small recipe books. They had some awesome chocolate brownies & spinach dip!

~Mike was home before I was,so he made the coffee & his own supper.

Hat Sold!!

It was raining when Mike got up,so no hike.

~I sold a Modern Flapper Hat Dorothea in Off White/Country Blue to Diane in FL.

~I made dough for Ginger Doughboys,letting it sit in the fridge while I made Peanut Butter cookies.I accidently left out the Splenda,but did put in the 1/4c of honey.As with everything I make,I can't tell if they are good!I did use a flower-shaped piece I found in the attic to make a design on the PB cookies,adding a chocolate or vanilla chip to the center.Some,I used the crossed-fork design.I ended up making 40 Doughboys,1o Ginger Blossoms.

~While baking,I swept the floors & cleaned the front bath.

~I made Turtle "Clementine" in RH Caress Raspberry Ripple/unknown Raspberry.I also made a Stained Glass granny square in Raspberry Ripple.

~I also worked on the Gingham granny lap blanket,adding the last 4 squares.I now need to decide how to finish it off.

~We had chicken bacon cheese sammies for supper.

Memories of Camp Stoney

~I left the house when Mike did,around 8:45am.

~I went to Michael's to check on CSS Off White.The skein I have is older,from the 1980's,& I wanted to see if they were the same color.They were!So,with my 40%-off coupon,I got a skein of LionBrand Vannas Choice "Charcoal Print",since Bryan seems interested in a beanie in black/gray.I alos picked up two 2-packs of Mary Englebreit sticky notes(2 for $1 clearance).They will be good add-ins for gift baskets.

~At Albertson's,I picked up a box of AllBran crackers & a day-old loaf of raisin bread(maybe for bread pudding?).

~At Big Lots,I got a bag of York Premier Baking Pieces-mini peppermint patties.

~After lunch,I went up to the church to water the roses.I also picked up some trash & dug up weeds from the parking lot cracks.

~We handed out 17 bags at the food pantry & folded bulletins.Pat really like the Shaded Greens turtle I made for her,whom I named "Tandy".I started a special-order Modern Flapper Hat "Dorothea" in CSS Off White.I had brought the last of the Cocoa Banana Muffin Tops & everybody loved them!Anne Malstrom was also there,showing off her T-shirt quilt.It was awesome!

~I stopped by Goodwill & found a quilt rack($4.99) & 2 skirts(around $10 for both).

~Back home,I finished the Dorothea hat,adding a Button flower pin in CSS Country Blue.

~I spent the rest of the afternoon sorting yarn from the bag Pat gave me.

~I made Mike grilled smoked sausage for supper.

First they came...

~Didn't sleep well last night,but only needed Ibuprofen for my jaw this morning.I also had to grind up my maple sausage/Swiss cheese omelet to eat it.

~I finished the Scrappy Tweed Bag(looks like the Scrap Tweed Tassel Hat with handles!).It is so cool!I also finished the Snowboarder Skullie("dude" version).

~Mike went over to Susie's to bury the electric dog fence.He forgot my zuchinni!

~I worked on the Lion Brand Homespun prayer shawl.I ran out of Candy Apple Red & added Colonial blue.

~Mike replaced the flapper on the back bath toilet & moved the garage-door opener switch.I picked up a bucket of sticks in the front yard.

~I made a Little Octopus in vintage Red Heart Caress(brushed yarn similiar to DazzleAire)in Raspberry Ripple.It is so sweet!

~We had baon cheeseburger sammies for supper.

~We attended Pilgrims in Christ class.It was my turn to tell my Spiritual Journey.It was very emotonal,but not as hard I had expected it to be.I think everybody cried,LOL.

~We met with Mike's friends from work at Imbibe for Bryan's 21st birthday.I had a Blue Moon beer.It came in a tall glass with an orange wedge.It was good & we had fun,sitting & talking on the roof patio.Even the cigar smoke was nice!

I love to bake!

Mini Oatmeal cookies with milk chocolate chips,peanut butter chips,vanilla chips,dark cocoa chips,butterscotch chips or Craisins.

~We got groceries at WMS & Costco.We also went by Petsmart to get Susie a new electric dog fence for Maddie.
~While out,I started a Snowboarder Skullie in BSC Medium Sea Green.
~After bringing me home,Mike went back up to Susie's to install the fence.
~I put away groceries,cleaned out the pantry & worked on the Scrappy Bag,like the Tweed Feed Bag but with scrap yarns.It's funky!
~Mike got back home at 1pm.I made him lunch.
~I sewed a button on a pair of Mike's pants.I HATE to sew!
~We both had a dentist appointments at 3pm.Mike got in first & basically just got a second fitting for his upper.I thought I was getting the other half of my teeth cleaned.The dr started numbing my left side.I thought it was an awful lot for just a cleaning.Then the assistant brought in a release form to pull another tooth & I said "Nobody said anything to me about pulling another tooth!".Turns out the wisdom tooth on the bottom left side bone had deteriorated.I had no problem with the tooth being pulled,it just seemed unprofessional to not talk to me about it before the numbing process.They cleaned my teeth & pulled the tooth.
~I made Mike a bacon cheeseburger sammie for supper.I had a cherry cheesecake smoothie(lite yogurt mixed with 1/2 & 1/2).

Back to School!

School Spirit Hair Scrunchie-a quick,first-day-back-to-school project for the little girls in your life.If hair is short,it can be worn around the wrist as a "fairy ring"(bracelet).Also,a good use for small bits of multicolors(about 13 yards)!

~Hike to Shelter Rock.

~Mike recharged both the a/c's on our trucks before leaving for work.

~I went to Walgreen's to pick up 5 for $1 Royal gelatins for the food pantry bag extras.I also picked up a 6-pack of small raisin boxes for $1.

~At Big Lots,I got a bag of Nestle Toll House Swirled chips(semi-sweet chocolate & premier white).

~I helped Chuck load 17 bags at the food pantry.Afterwards,I picked up some trash from the church parking lot.Someone who lives in the condos behind the church throws their cigarette butts over the wall!

~At Goodwill,I got 2 salad plates & a pair of small tongs.

~Back home & after lunch,I did a load of laundry & swept/mopped the kitchen/utility rooms.

~I made a Sedona Hat in unknown Twilight Mauve(multicolor shades of gray with mauve)/Raven black.

~I worked on the Paint Pony lap blanket.

~We had cheesy bacon chicken for supper.

My Version of a "China" Cabinet

Bottom half-free from Susie.Top half-$5 from a yardsale.All "china" from yard sales,thrift shops,given to me by family/friends.

~I made devil eggs for coffee hour.

~I took the Hug to Jason.He said it was exactly what he had in mind!Bryan liked his Can Cozy & Oatmeal "cake".

~After church Coffee Hour hosted by Miss Mary Helen(mini cherry cheese cakes & chocolate ring cake),Susie(orange juice)& Me(devil eggs,cherry tomatoes,baby dills,mini Granola Muffins,almonds,wheat crackers).

~Back home,I emptied the dish washer,picked up the back yard & vacuumed the floors.

~I made a Little Octopus in vintage unknown Jungle(several shades of green with rust & a tiny bit of brown-could be Dazzeaire.

~I made Mike a bacon cheeseburger for supper.

~We watched "Max Payne".Now this was a good movie-lots of action,good visuals,no nudity.

Susie came by at 8am.I drove my Jeep to Greg's house to pick up his mother,Mrs. Lloyd.She went yard-saling with us.She's a sweet lady.We had lunch with the Hogan' & Greg at Perennials.It wasn't as good as some of the other local restaurants we got to.Mrs Lloyd went home with Greg.

~Yard-saling,I found:mini tart pan($1),3 disposable aluminum mini loaf pans(.12),decorative tea tin(.25),skein brown sport yarn(.50),wood rattle snake($2),from a quarter bin-mini notebook/daisy iron on patch/Peter Rabbit tiny tin/Chinese coin key ring,Gift of the Magi book(.25),bag of buttons($2) & Pewter picture frame($2).

~Susie & I came back to my house so she could pick up her car.We then drove back up to the auto-parts store where they were holding a charity car wash for the Blessed Mustard Seed Babies' Home.For a donation,we got our cars washed & a dozen gingerbread cookies.

~Back home,I finished the Turtle for Pat in the vintage Shaded Greens from the bag she gave me,adding Emerald green for the other parts.I also worked on the 3 scrap lap blankets I have going.

~When Mike got home,after changing his clothes,we took an 18-count carton of hard-boiled eggs & a bag of oranges up to the church for tomorrows feeding of needy at St Martin's.They have enough help,so I won't be going.

~Mike had reheated grilled smoked sausage for supper.

~We watched "Watchmen" on dvd.Too weird,violent & sexual.A total waste of time.

~I got to the Family Thrift Center for their 1/2-off Back-to-School sale at 8:50am.The line was longer than in July,but it wasn't raining.I remembered to bring my big,quilted shopping bag!
~For just under $20,I got 2 bags of yarn(highlights-3 balls Plymouth Encore in 958[Dusty Plum],2 skeins CSS Black & 3 skeins RHS Medium Thyme),2 potholders(plain serviceable),Jesus Freaks book,salad plate,2 small ramikins,huge coffee cup(which I am drinking Twinings Winter Spice tea out of right now!),cheese knife,thrown pottery bowl with blue/wine/brown glaze,tan Cactus Flower skirt & New York & Company blouse(may wear the skirt/blouse for my confirmation).
~Back home,I made Oatmeal Cookies in several different ways:
*in a 5"x7" pan for a birthday "cake" with chocolate chips spelling out "21" & decorated with butterscoth chips
*12-count muffin-size,half chocolate chips,half butterscoth chips
*24-count mini-muffin size,4 each with chips in:dark chocolate,peanut butter,vanilla,milk chocolate,butterscotch & craisin
*One,large cookie from the leftover dough with butterscoth chips,cut into 4 pie-wedges
~I went to the library to pick up the book I've been awaiting for 2 weeks.
~I finished the Hug by making arms & sewing them on.It is ADORABLE!
~I made a Can Cozy in RHS Zebra for Bryan's 21st birthday to keep his "adult beverages" cold.
~We had bacon cheese burgers for supper.

Hat Sold!!

Hike to Coffee Rock.The moon was big & white in the west.

~I sold a Modern Flapper Hat "Imogene" in CSS Limelight/Mango to Judy in FL.

~I went to Albertson's for tuna(.49 each with coupon,limit 2) & Pillsbury Reduced Sugar cake mixes(2 for $4).I'm a believer of eating most everything in moderation,but cutting out excess sugar & carbs when possible while still enjoying a treat every now & then.I also mailed the hat at the box in the parking lot.

~I tried on a dress at the Family Thrift Center,but it didn't fit right.

~Back home,I made a sandwich(cotto salami & swiss cheese on flat bread spread with veggie cream cheese) to take with me up to the church & changed into shorts.

~At the church,I watered the roses & pulled weeds.

~At the food pantry,we handed out 17 bags.I helped fold bulletins.Pat brought me a bunch of scrap yarn.I started a Turtle shell with a ball of 1970's Shaded Greens.Pat wants to buy it when it's done!

~Back home,I did 2 loads of laundry.

~I finished the body of the Hug stuffie,stitched on the face & glued on the felt hearts.It is so cute!I'm now designing the arms.

~I made Mike grilled smoked sausage for supper.

Summertime!

~Hike to Coffee Rock.

~We got groceries at WMS.

~Mike had an optometry appointment at 10:15am.It turns out the head dr is affiliated locally with the NRA.Mike found slightly more modern frames that he liked.Hopefully,they will give him better arms-length sight.

~We went across town to drop off the old cable boxes & get a new box that is just for internet.

~We went shooting at Caliber's.

~While out,I finished a Roseburg Hat in RHTLCE Sandstone & the modified Cheyenne Hat in RHS Warm Brown/vintage RH Maypole Cypress.I addd a large rose pin in Cypress the the Cheyenne Hat & a Star Flower pin in Peach Fuzz/Frosty Green to the Roseburg Hat.

~Mike hung the black shelf I got last Saturday yard-saling above the black floor shelving unit.It now looks like a set,in a semi-Shaker style(will post a pic later).It's my "china" cabinet!

~We had chicken bacon cheese wraps for supper.

~We attended Pilgrims in Christ class-History of the Church & Heresies.

Bargain!

$10 clock from Big Lots.

~Hike to Shelter Rock.

~After breakfast,Mike went around the house & pulled furniture out from the walls where the cable guy will need to rewire our TV stuff.We are going from cable back to a dish because it's less expensive.

~I made a Star Flower Pin in CSS Black to go on the CSS Off White Girly Hat I made last week.

~I picked up the back yard while Mike weed-wacked.

~When the grass dried in the back,Mike mowed while I picked up sticks in the front yard.

~The dish guy came & hooked us up!

~I started a modified Cheyenne Hat in RHS Warm Brown/vintage RH Maypole Cypress.

~We went up to the auto shop to pay for the work they did on Mike's Bronco.There was a leak in the battery & acid had eaten through a filter,which was making gas fumes come into the truck.I dropped off some baked goods at Napa next door.

~We went to St Mary's at 4pm to have pictures taken for the church directory.We were given a free 8"x10" & I used my $25 gift certificate(for helping out with the check-ins)to buy twelve 3" x 5" greeting cards.After we got our pictures taken,I stayed until 6pm so Kristen could go home for a few hours.

~I made bacon cheeseburger sammies for supper.

Creek at Camp Stoney.

~We sat & drank a cup of coffee while watching news this morning.

~Mike watered the back yard.It is thick & green!


~I stopped at Big Lots for food pantry bag extras(wheat/cheese cracker packs,vanilla cracker sticks & pretzel/cheese packs) & a watering wand to use at the church rose garden.

~I helped Chuck fill 17 food bags.Here is what goes into each doubled paper bag:box of macaroni & cheese,can of pinto beans,can of vegetables,2 small cans of tomato sauce,can of meat(chili,vienna sausage,pasta/meat mix,etc),can of tuna,can of soup(chicken noodle or tomato),can of fruit,jar of peanut butter,10 tea bags,2 packs of instant oatmeal,cup of sugar,package of pasta,2 cups of rice,2 cups of dried beans,2 packs of Ramen noodles & any "extras" I bring or others leave in the church box.On Thursday,when we had out the bags,we put 1/2 dozen eggs in each bag.

~Went to Hobby Lobby to get the remaing things I need to finish the Hug:skein of RHS Coffee,1" foam,thin quilt batt & sheet of red felt.

~At Goodwill,I found 2 salad plates(49cents each),the size we use most.

~I dropped off 2 packages at the post office.

~Back home & after lunch,I worked on the Hug,adding rows in Coffee.I also added 3 more squares to the Gingham Granny lap blanket.

~I reheated grilled smoked sausage for Mikes supper.

Hat Sold!!


When Mike woke me,I thought it was raining.Turned out there was a leak in the swamp cooler hose.

~ Hike to Coffee Rock with a stop at
Smith's for yogurt & Canfields Diet Cherry Chocolate Fudge soda.

~I sold a
Sedona Hat in Outback/Black to Brannon in AR.

~Mike fixed the leaky hose before going to work.

~I stopped by Napa to drop of 4 Granola Muffins for the boys,show Jason the special-order stuffie he requested & give him a
Turtle for his mom,who is recovering from surgery.

~I went to church & made plans with Susie for Mike & I to drop by later this evening to see her backyard landscaping.

~When I got home from church around 1pm,the water was running off the patio roof like it was this morning.I texted Mike about it & he had me shut off the main water valve.I guess he will check on it when he gets home.

~I gathered trash/recycles.I also packed up the hat I sold this morning & more turtles/octopi for Karen for mailing off on Monday.

~I alternated working on the Hug stuffie(completed the Buff & the 2 rows of Aran)& scrap granny square & ripple lap blankets.

~Mike fixed the leak on the swamp cooler when he got home.I made him cheesy bacon chicken for supper.

~Around 6:45pm,we went over to Susie's house to check out her landscaping.It looks awesome!

Criminals are cowards.They pick people who look like victims or commit their crimes in places where thay know people can't or won't fight back.Don't be a sheep!

~Hike to Shelter Rock,really windy.

~I made Cranberry Corn Muffins to take to the
Daughters of the King meeting.

~ I stopped at a few yardsales before going to the meeting.I got a lamp with a shade($2),a wall shelf($5),a small table($2) & a small iron chair(.50).

~The meeting went well.Two ladies had corn muffins,while the others took some home.Anne Malstrom was pulling weeds,so I gave her the last 3 muffins.

~Back home & after lunch,I worked on the
Hug plushie & Paint Pony lap blanket at the same time,alternating doing one row on each.I have about 1" left of the Buff to do on the Hug.

~We had bacon cheese burgers for supper.
