It was more of whole cherries in thick syrup, then real jam. It was very liquidy when it came out of the oven, but turned out very chewy. The guys really liked it!

~At the office, I got the newsletter printed/collated/stapled & addressed. I also booked 3 more outdoor spaces for the Spring Craft Fair.

~I worked on scrap granny squares.

~Day at the range. I used our AR-15 today. It is heavier, but it makes for a lower recoil. It also has a bright orange front sight which is also better. Since our class was so proficient, we did shooting on the move & pivots, which we didn't do last November. Date Night: We concentrated on basics, shot placement & keeping the sights on the target while pressing the trigger.

Wednesday, March 21, 2012

Spring!

I actually wore this outfit last summer to a wedding, but makes me long for warmer weather. I picked the skirt (half-price!), then found the shirt to match (also half-price!), pairing it with a wood bead necklace (thrift store), burl oak bangle (custom made for me by a KY artisan), and strappy brown leather sandal (not pictured, but also from the thrift store). This outfit was different than I normally wear, and though pretty and it looked good on me, I was uncomfortable in it. I do like the color/pattern, though.

~We stopped by the church to set up coffee before heading to the range. Though I took this class last November, it was like it was all brand new! It took me quite a while to get the system back right. Of course, I am shooting a different gun, but it was better by the end of the day. So tired!

Liberty

April 19, 1775
When marksmanship met history, and the heritage began

~Mike took me to work, then he did a few things around the church. I got the bulletins, prayers of the people & readings done. I also did more work on the newsletter. It was just me at the Food Pantry, we gave away 9 bags.

~Date Nite: We went in a little early so Mike could check out the .223 reloads, which worked great! Tonight, he shot my XDM while I shot his 1911. It was a little tricky during warmups remembering the safety, but it was okay by the time we started doing drills. We worked on feeling the gun, with shooting with eyes closed, which I did pretty good. I did cause several blood blisters on my left palm from reloading. My XDm has smooth, round edges, while the 1911 is basic, square & sharp corners. But, now I feel more competent about teaching the 1911 to students.

We would shoot our weapons at 25 yards, then he would shoot our weapons at 25 yards. We did this 3 times. Though he won overall, I won all 3 of my shots! It was an awesome night!!

Wednesday, March 7, 2012

~We stopped by the office to set up the coffee for Wednesday fellowship after the service. We then went down to the fire marshalls office to drop off the permit application for the May craft show.
