Hat Sold!!

~Mike drove me to work. He spent all day at the church, doing a layout for the craft show & working on the kitchen drains. I worked on bulletins & prayers.

~I made a Flapper Beanie in retro Red Heart Canvas (light olive green)/Bronze (dark rust).

~I made Mike a grilled hotdog wrap for supper.

~We watched Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. This one was less drama, more fun, like the first one.

KY style

These little cross-stitch quilts remind me of KY! I got them on the Valentine 1/2-price anything with red in it or on it(they came in a bag with a red tag) sale at the Family Thrift Center.

~The office was busy when I arrived. The counters were there & the Hunter's were there with a rep going over products. I sold 2 Butterfly Pinafores (the cream one & brown one) to Pam. I actually got all done today I wanted to!

~I made a Sweet Skullcap in Red with Black trim & a Black star flower centered with a silver heart.

~We had omelet wraps for supper.

~Mike had a meeting to attend.

~After stopping off at Big Lots, I went up to the church to help load bags at the Food Pantry & call in Payroll. At Hobby Lobby, I picked up a skein of Baby Bee Hushabye Boo Pink.

~Back home, I cooked up a pound each of bacon & sausage & swept the floors.

~I made a Little Tweed Bag in Red Heart Lipstick/Black.

~I made Mike a chicken bacon cheese wrap for supper.

~We watched the last half of Streets of Laredo.

~We had pepperoni omelet wraps for supper.

~We watched Ironclad. It was awesome!!

Mmmm.....

Gunfighter Brownies dressed up for Valentine's Day

~I took my yarn with me to the church parking lot and started a Roseburg Hat in Lion Brand Vanna's Choice Mustard, waiting for Fr. Jim to pick me up. He drove us to St. Chad's for the NW Deanery meeting, my first such meeting as a delegate for St. Mary's . We met Ms. Dorothy there, who is an Alternate. It was an interesting meeting, not near as boring as I had expected. I did work on the hat during the lunch break, almost completing it. I was back home by 3pm.

~I started a load of laundry & added a flower pin to the hat in periwinkle.

~I made Mike a warm ham/cheese wrap for supper.

~I swept the floors before leaving the house.

~At the Family Thrift Center, I found a long-sleeve gray T-shirt for 1/2 price. I dropped off Peanut Butter Popcorn Squares for the Napa Boys. I got a few groceries at Smiths.

~Back home, after lunch, I made a Butterfly Pinafore in Yarn Bee Hushabye Chocolate brown with turquoise/white decorative buttons.

~We had omelet wraps for supper.

Button Garland Sold!!

~Mike took me to work. I got the bulletins done with no problem & finished the parochial report.

~Revolver Date Nite: After warmups, we shot with our eyes closed with reloads. The idea is to own your stance, which includes removing the gun from the holster & having your body positioned in such a way that you are on target, even in the dark.

Recipe Box

A gift from Mom-Keepsake Chest made in Boston, KY. I use it to hold my recipe cards.

~I stopped at Big Lots (multi grain chips & ink pens) before heading up to the church to help load bags at the Food Pantry. I work on the newsletter & printed out a rough draft. I got a skein of Yarn Bee Hushabye in Chocolate brown.

~Back home, I made a pan of fudge brownies.

~I designed a pattern for Flower ink pen covers & made four of them.

~I made Mike a meatball sandwich for supper.

~We watched The Last Legion.

Lap Blanket

~I cooked up the pound of sausage for the week & also made a big pot of TX/KY Chili. I will post pictures & the recipe at a later time. I also did a load of laundry, swept the floors & dusted the furniture. All done before 10:30 A.M.!

~I made a Butterfly Pinafore in Yarn Bee Hushabye Naked (off-white), with shiny aqua floral buttons.

~I made Mike a ham & cheese wrap for supper.

~I made a Little Tweed Bag in Red Heart Water Lily/Cream thread.

Pink!

How embarrassing for the bad guy to be taken down by a GIRL with a PINK rifle!

~I made a batch of Oatmeal cookies with Chocolate & Peanut Butter Chips. It does work better to use half butter/half crisco.

~At the Family Thrift Center, I got a T-shirt(1/2-price). I got a few groceries at Albertsons (eggs .88 a dozen, limit 2)then dropped off Peanut Butter Buckeye Brownies for the Napa Boys.

~I made a Button Medallion Choker in Light Sage with a pearl button.

~We had supper at the Hunter's & played a round of a new card game. Mike won, I came in last. It was a fun evening.

SNOW!!!

Yesterday was cold & cloudy. We woke up to snow this morning.

~Mike drove me to work, then cleared the sidewalks around the church. I mailed bills, worked on the newsletter & printed out bulletins for the committal.

~Date Nite: After warmups, we worked on going slower to feel the gun. I was off, I think because people in the big range were being unsafe with their weapons. The glass in between is not bullet-proof. After break, we shot with our eyes closed & I did better.

~After breakfast, I cooked a pound of sausage & did a load of laundry.

~I attended the Worship Committee & Prayer Shawl Ministry.

~I made Peanut Butter Popcorn bars using the same recipe as PB Crispies. I had 2 bags of microwave kettle corn & it was the perfect amount.

~I made a Butterfly Pinafore in Lion Brand Cotton Ease Azalea with brown buttons that look like chocolates. So adorable!

~I made Mike a ham & cheese wrap, multigrain chips & sweet pickle supper.

Decorative Plate

Another gift from my Mom, this one from an indoor flea market here in Albuquerque. Wrought Farberware from Brooklyn, NY, aluminum plate holder in Morning Glories pattern with Limoges Imperial Victorian plate from the 1950's-1960's.

~The AC guys called early, so we headed up to the office around 8:15am. It turned out to be a $400 repair! I worked on craft show stuff, printed bulletins & worked some more on the parish list. We gave away 20 bags at the food pantry.

~Date Nite: Randy got caught in traffic, so Mike & I ran warm-ups. We then did timed two to the body at the 7yd line. I was 1.7. We then did the whole night of strong hand/off hand drills, which included Class-3 malfunctions, which I had never done with the XDm. My Kahr I could never lock back with my left hand, but this was SO much easier! The first drill, I was first done, the second time, second done. I am so happy!

~Mike took me to work, where he checked on things before attending mass. I worked on bulletins, typed up minutes from last nights meeting & payed bills. We enjoyed coffee hour. I finished going through the parish books & called 3 people to inquire about their status.

~I made a Flapper Beanie in retro KMart Sayelle Teak/unknown Dusty Rose ombre.

~We had pepperoni/cheese omelet wraps for supper.

~We watched Conan the Barbarian. It was okay, but I prefer less blood & nudity.

Pink

I went a long time without wearing pink. It was too stereotypical & I refused to be put in that box. I now realize that you can be girly & still be a gunfighter. Being feminine in pink is camo!

~At the office, I worked on bulletins & the parish parochial, which consist of matching names with our books, of which there are about 10 to go through, since St. Mary's used to be two other churches that merged in 1989. Some of the past admins did not keep good records. I emailed out 3 more applications for the spring craft show!

~I made a Sweet Skullcap in Red Heart Lustersheen Pastel Ombre with a Black flower pin centered with a pink bow.

~I made Mike a grilled cheesy hotdog wrap, honey wheat pretzel & sweet pickle supper. I had Beef Barley soup.

~We attended a special Vestry meeting.

~I stopped by Big Lots (crackers, popcorn, etc for us, juice boxes for the nursery) before heading up to church to load bags at the Food Pantry. I checked emails, sorted postal mail & had a nice talk with Fr. Jim.

~Back home, I made Oatmeal Mix Berry Jam Bars & swept the floors.

~I made a Baby Beanie in a retro yarn I call Strawberry Fields (pinks with green), adding a green button. It's very cute!

~We had omelet wraps for supper.

~I made a Wrist Cuff in Sinfonia (mercerized acrylic)Rust with olive/gold buttons. This was a bit leftover from a hat I made for myself quite a while ago. It is cool!

~We watched Open Range. This is one of the best "new" westerns out there.

~I attended 10:30 A.M. service where I served as Crucifer, LEM, Lay Reader & Acolyte. I helped clean up after coffee hour.

~I spent most of the afternoon making contact with local Abq crafters for the show in May. I have 10 people interested!

~I made an Ascot Boa Scarf in Lion Brand Fancy Fur Stormy Sea/retro TG & Y Sayelle Turquoise.

~Mom called & we talked for quite a while.

~We watched two more hours of Streets of Laredo.

Thrifting Genes!

Thrifting must run in the family! My mom found this tapestry bag (another of my collections) for me at her KY Goodwill store. Both my sisters also thrift.

~I attended Daughters of the King.

~I made a Butterfly Pinafore in Baby Bee Hushabye Baby Sage with vintage caramel buttons in size 1. It is adorable! I really like this yarn. I also made a Soap Sack in Ocean thread, a Sweet Skullcap in Red Heart Lustersheen jade with a Pansy lavender flower pin & miscellaneous 1-round flower pins in scraps of Lustersheen.

~I made Mike a ham/cheese wrap with Sunchips & a sweet pickle.

~We watched the first 2 hours of Streets of Laredo. It is okay, but not near as good as the original Lonesome Dove.

Lap Blanket

~I cooked up a pound of sausage, did a load of laundry, swept the floors & vacuumed the rugs.

~At the Family Thrift Center, I didn't get anything, but saw several things I might pick up next Friday at the 1/2-price anything with red in it or on it Valentine sale. I did find 2 shirts for me, a short skirt for making yo-yo's and a ugly blouse with pretty button at Good Deals (.99 Goodwill store). I dropped off Peanut Butter Crispies for the Napa Boys. I used coupons at Michael's for Lion Brand Cotton Ease in Azalea & Baby Bee Hushabye in Baby Sage at Hobby Lobby. A final stop at Albertson' s for apple butter & eggs before heading home.

~I made a Button Medallion Choker in Natural with a fancy gold-tone metal button.

~I made Mike a meatball sandwich with honey wheat pretzels & a sweet pickle.

Baaad...

We have two ladies out of a class of nine at the CCW Draw Class. They can take care of themselves!

~Another full day at CCW Draw Class,followed by Date Nite: Warmups, then reloading drills (all-time best:2.4 seconds!), accuracy drills (I won on one!) then down range for multiple targets. Fun night!

Mmmm.....

~After breakfast, I made Sour Cream Cornbread in 3 seperate pans: Apple Butter Swirl, Mix Berry Jam Swirl & Fiesta Cheese.

~We went up to the office early to do some computer work with the craft show & Mike marked off table spaces in the Parish Hall. I also set up coffee.

~We spent the day at the range helping with CCW Draw Class. The cornbread was awesome! This is the first time I made it in the pyrex dishes & it was so moist. This is the way I will always make it from now on.
